9 months old
he has learned to shake his head from side to side when he hears "no-no"
(which he hears a lot these days since he loves to get into everything) I tried to upload a video of that, but it isn't working. I'll keep trying.
love him!

she made it..
We started out with Tay's soccer game at 10, and then the long awaited day to go to Lagoon had come. Last year we didn't get season passes again since I was pregnant, so we promised Tay that this year we could. She was so excited she could hardly contain herself.
After the soccer game **where she scored a beautiful goal** we came home, changed and headed out. Now the magic number for the "big kid rides" is 46 inches and our Tay is just shy of it. That morning she and Sean headed out to see if they could find any BIG sole shoes to give her that extra boost, but none were found so we crossed our fingers anyway and tried to tell her that she may still not be tall enough.
When we arrived we saw the measuring stick and stood her up against it only to find out that she was quite a bit off the magic mark.
Well the first stop was the Rickety White Roller Coaster and we thought, well lets give it a try and sure enough she got through. Standing there waiting in line I almost teared up because she was so excited and had a grin from ear to ear. How fun to experience her first big kid ride with her.
She LOVED it. Not one bit scared. I was so proud of her.
I remember talking to Sean about how fun it would be when she could ride the fun rides with us several years ago, and the days have arrived!
I took Jayson and Rylee on the train and Sean took her on the Spider. Again she made it past and loved every minute of it (I'm not sure the 16 year old kid even noticed that she may not be tall enough). Phew! So of course, while he was standing guard we rode it 3 times.
Then came the Colossus. Oh boy, the grand daddy ride. The guy at the booth looked like someone who would be a bit more strict and measure several times, but once again, BINGO, through she went.
We had a great day and it was so empty we just walked on to every ride. It wasn't too hot, yet all my little people had sun-kissed faces when we got home. They were all exhausted and didn't even make it home before they were out! AHHH, the joys of summer days are upon us.
I wish I would have taken some pictures, but I didn't!
When we got home we made homemade pizzas. Sean has found his perfect crust and sauce recipe. It was sooo tasty. Watch out Papa Johns -- here comes Papa Sean!! Then we chilled downstairs and watched the Jazz game. It was so fun to finally have a day to be together as a family, with no interruptions!
Church was great today. Afterwards we went to our friends, the Carlson's, to play some games. Now the kids are all tucked in their beds- snoring simultaneously!
Tomorrow is work. Blah! But then we get to chill when the Hansens come out of their Hideout, and watch the Jazz game and eat dinner together. Can't wait for that. We love to hang out with them.
I think I'll call it a night to and go and join in the snore-A-thon!
p.s. congratulations to my friend Carolyn & Matt on their newest arrival, Owen! We love you guys!
And to the Moore's who finally arrived home Friday night with their new little bundle of joy! What a relief. I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend and that he is still doing well. Love you!

change in plans

no trip to boise this weekend. i am sad, but jen and her family need
time to get that little baby home and have some time together to breathe and veg. he is such a sweet little guy and our prayers and thoughts are still with them. stay strong little Eli!
so now what? do i finish my projects that so desperately need to be done? do i clean and do laundry?
i think i need an outing. we are going to get lagoon passes this year so maybe (weather permitting, of course) we will try that out Saturday. i'm excited to see all the rides that tayler can go on this year. i need to measure her and she how tall she is.
monday after a LONG day of work we went to the park. Sean met us there and brought McDonald's for the girls since he and I were fasting. they ate and then we came home for bedtime! they were out in 2 minutes flat. love that!
i have been in a funk lately. sean is sooooo busy it's not even humanly possible to keep up. i am trying to be supportive and not need any attention, but i am failing miserably. any suggestions?
yesterday we had a blizzard. today seems a little better and tomorrow and friday should be complete with some much needed sunshine.

week
Yesterday was filled with many activities and things to do.
Tay's school did "Mom's and Muffins" so i went with my little muffin (and her 2 siblings tagged along)and then this Fabulous friend took Rylee to the "airplane museum" and I went visiting teaching. It was nice to only have Jayson for that part. Thank you so much Kris!
Later that afternoon Rylee had her pal, Audrey, come and play and Trevor came a little while later. They had a blast together. My other friend, Brittney then stopped by so I asked if she knew how to take off wallpaper and before I could stop her she just started doing it and now the bottom part is done. Thanks Britt!
I am changing my kitchen and family room colors and style. I am excited about it! I LOVE projects like that. Actually I love the results more than doing it, but it will be a fun change! We have been here 5 years already, so i need to change things up a bit.
Tuesday, I found this cute girl reading to her babies. I sat by her door for a while and listened. The story that she was "reading" was priceless and so sweet. She's a cutie!
Today we are having lunch at Kris' house and then will hit some paint stores. Oh, this is going to be fun!
Hooray for Friday. Have a great week all!

Okay, Okay
Speaking of April Fools though,
My favorite April Fools joke happened when Rylee was 2 1/2
months old. I bought a pregnancy test and had my friend
(who was pregnant at the time)
take it for me so that it would show a postive reading.
I then hid it in the downstairs bathroom so that it would be all ready for the
next day. I woke up and came down early while Sean was
still eating breakfast.
The stage was set.
Well a trait of mine is that I can make myself cry on cue so I came
out of the bathroom crying--holding the pregnancy test
(remember that Rylee was still just a newborn) carrying on about how
I couldn't be pregnant again so quickly and how I wasn't going to be able to
do it.. and on and on and on.
When Sean finally figured out what was going on and
saw the pregancy test he was ecstatic!
He was so thrilled to have another one and so excited to tell everyone
at work... uh oh-- not the reaction I excepted!
He buzzed around the kitchen for a while (seriously so excited),
so as he was finally leaving out the door for work I had to come clean.
I couldn't let him go to work and tell everyone (now in hindsight I should have!!)
Dang it! I actually felt bad bursting his bubble.
Well, the other funny part of the story is that my friend, Kim,
also did it to her husband.
So when Sean found out about our little prank, he called her husband
to let him know it was just an April Fool's joke.
In return her husband started
playing the prank back on her. He had his Dad call and tell her how thrilled
they were, and a whole bunch of other funny things, and then he drove
a brand new Durango (with the
Sales guy from the Car Dealer in the car) home and acted like they would
go back to the dealership and sign the papers that day for the
new car to force her to come clean too.
It was a pretty funny day! I still can't believe my husband ratted
us out, but we all got a good chuckle out of it at the end!
Now for April 2nd,
We woke up to rain/snow again. Bummer!
I took Tay to school, started some laundry
and then called my wonderful friend Maria who let us
crash her house and eat lunch and just hang out. She is the best &
I love to hang out with her and her cute kiddo! Thanks again for
a wonderful afternoon!
I also talked to my sister who is getting so close to having her new
little bambino make his entrance. Can't wait for that.
Now all my kids are napping so I am off to iron!

Unbelievable
A few years ago Sean flew out to Atlanta to apply for a job
with another Health Insurance Company. Well we
never heard anything, but last week
they called and interviewed him
over the phone and had him meet with the Vice President
of the company who was in Draper, and
then yesterday they offered him an amazing position with
the company that we can't turn down.... so
it looks like we will be moving to Atlanta in a few months.
I think I am still in shock at the thought, but Sean will be leaving
the 21st of April and then flying home on weekends
until our house sells.
I am excited at the thought of our new little adventure, but
also tearful because we have so many wonderful friends here.
I am comfortable here!
I will miss being so close to mom, and since our family is
already spread out it will be hard to get together as much.
Anyone want to come for Thanksgiving in Atlanta?
It could be fun!!!
The next few months will bring lots of change.
The task of getting the house ready to sell is daunting.
Please send your prayers our way. I haven't even
told any of my family yet because it all happened so
quickly. Looks like I will be on the phone a lot
these next few days.
Loves!

Grateful Sunday
but little reminders occurred all day of how lucky I am
and how grateful I am to my Heavenly Father.
I talked to my mom in the morning before Church and
she related an awesome story about the power
of fasting. It really struck home with me that
the Lord does hear and answer prayers.
It happened when I was 7 (i'm pretty sure).
anyway, I don't remember it
at all, but my Dad had left for Utah either late
Sunday night or early Monday morning and asked
us all to fast. My older siblings, Jenny and Brent,
myself, mom and dad all participated in this
fast. My dad asked us to fast for 24 hours (I'm not
sure I could do that now). anyway, it was agreed
and my dad was going to go to an early session in the
temple on Tuesday morning. I am sure the fast was
to know if moving to Utah was the right thing, for
our family and career path.
My mom said that Monday was Iowa testing in school and
she worried about us all not having a good breakfast
or lunch to make it through the day, but when we came home
we were all perfectly fine. She said that Jen, my oldest sis,
didn't have a migraine like she usually did when she didn't eat,
and we all told her that it didn't bother us at all to see the
other kids eating.
I thought that was a great story to be reminded.
Then at Church we watched the video
"Just a Stone Mason" It was an AMAZING story
about a man who was converted and committed to
the gospel. Definitely a tear jerker for sure!
I hope that you all have the opportunity to
watch it sometime.
Last night after Church, we ate yummy Cafe Rio pork burritos
(thankyou Jen for the recipe!)
and played games as a family.
I love my little family so much.
They each are so wonderful, along with
my rockin' hubby! He is fabulous in every way!
I also got to talk with my awesome friend, Kirsten, too! I miss her
a lot! They moved to Tuscan, AZ. Lucky duck.
quick story:
Last week, while Tayler and Rylee were playing Tay
was pretending to be the mom and Rylee was her little girl.
I was laying on my bed reading, and I was deemed the
"grandma" in the pretend scenario. Tayler came in and
asked if I could watch her
little girl for a little while because her and her husband
were going to a temple session. Of course I gladly accepted
with a great big smile on my face. That made me
so happy that of all things she chose that to do on her
"pretend" date. I love that little girl. She then
preceded to tell me what Rylee enjoys doing
and that she had already eaten dinner. She said
almost word for word what I always say when we
get a babysitter. It made it laugh.
When she returned a little while later, she asked
if Rylee had been any trouble. How funny!
Anyway, it was a good day that made me reflect
on the things that are important in life.
Then this morning we woke up to LOTS of
snow. It took me a good 10 minutes to scrap
my car to drive to school. I wasn't so happy about that!
Oh well, it's almost all melted by now. That is a positive!
SPRING.. where are you???
Hope you all have a great week.

Easter Weekend
Horton Hears A Who
Later that day we had a party up at Sean's sisters house. We had dinner

Snip, Snip
We cut cute little Tay's hair this afternoon and then enjoyed a little lunch together. I love how it turned out (even though I'm not a huge fan of how the stylist do it). She was so cute while getting it cut. I wish I would have taken my camera!
Before
After
I think she's such a cutie pie (and looks a little older now too)
My mom came up Wednesday night since it is her schools Spring Break. We had a great time! Wednesday evening we just hang out, and Thursday we shopped and shopped and then had an appt. to get her hair cut as well. It is SO adorable-- I wish I would have taken a picture of the back! She is such a hip grandma! Thanks Mom for hanging out with us.
Since we shopped for such a long time yesterday and the kiddos didn't get naps they went to bed super early! Jayson fell asleep at 7:30 and didn't wake up until 9 this morning, and the other 2 went down at 8:00 and slept until 8:30 this morning. It was blissful!
I vegged on the couch and caught up on ALL my shows. That hasn't happened forever. Sean was at the Jazz game (which didn't start until 8:30) so we were all sound asleep before he got home at midnight.
This little kid is on the move and into everything. He loves the freedom of getting places now.
I can't believe it is Easter Weekend. I think we will be dying some eggs tonight. Hope you all have a great weekend!!!
Loves and hugs!

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
It was suppose to snow Saturday morning for our Ward Easter Activity, so we racked our brains with ways to do an "inside" Egg hunt, but with 150 kids it would be pure chaos, but we were willing to do it anyway. Well, the weather totally cooperated with us and the sun was out (and actually wasn't cold).. so the hunt went on without a hitch-- Outside!
The bad:
Saturday our Ward party started at 9:00. Set up was at 8:00 and we were picking up donuts, juice and milk at 7:30. My alarm went off at 7:42 a.m. AHHHHHHHHHHH... I still had to do all the above mentioned things and get ready and feed my sleeping baby beforehand. Don't you worry I would have woken up at 6:30 P.M. just fine!
The Ugly:
Did I mention that I got up at 7:42 and had to be to the Church by 8:00 and nurse a baby. You get the picture. Didn't look my best, but I got the job done!
(more of the bad)..I have to speak in Church on Sunday. Easter Sunday no less. I do love to prepare for talks, but HATE giving them.
Tayler is out of school until the 31st. I love having her home. She is such a joy to have around. Rylee has been sick with something and is completely irrational about everything. Tayler and I just look at each other and roll our eyes!
Our goal is to paint our Master Bathroom during her break. She is thrilled. We just need to go and get the paint. Wish us luck!

Wonderful Time
We are off

I am in LOVE...

Case solved
- Double ear infection and
- bilateral eye infection
Big boys don't cry...
This morning Rylee helped me make cookies and rolls as part of our dinner we are taking tonight to a friend that just had her new baby. We had such a great time doing it. I love when I have some 1 on 1 time with my kiddos. It seems to not come around too often, but with Tay in school and Jayson asleep we were victorious!
We are feeling very productive today. Hope all is well wherever you may be!

Update
group was awesome! We hosted the appetizers at our house and after the salad
course Sean and I went over to the church to trade off with the other couple in the
nursery.
Anyway, I have heard a lot of feedback to how wonderful it was, so I am glad
that everyone enjoyed themselves and met new people. Hooray!
Yesterday was a stressful day. You know the days that you just feel like
the world is against you. There are several reasons, which I won't expound
upon, but I am grateful to my husband and sister for listening to me. Sometimes
you just need to put everything back in perspective. That is my new goal.
Today, I woke up with a new attitude to try my best to look at the positive.
I don't want to get mad at my kids (or husband) because I have taken on
way more than I can handle and thus be the beneficiaries of a stressed out
Mom who takes everything out on them. That is so not fair.
I have decided that it is okay to say "no" even without a real reason. It
will be fun to try it out and see if I can really do it. Wish me luck.
.. and with that I have a 3 year old that is waiting to play Barbies with me.
p.s. Jayson had a tooth pop through. That may explain his prolonged orneriness,
although he is pretty sick still with a wicked cough.
