conference weekend

i know this is a very old picture (jayson isn't even a thought yet), but
i want my little family to know how much I love each of them.
i LOVE conference weekend for more reasons than just staying in
my p.j.'s all day, having yummy scones for breakfast, and
snuggling with my little ones on the couch. i love to be filled
with new things to ponder & work on.
new reasons to try that much harder the next day.
sometimes i get so overwhelmed with little things
that don't matter that i tend to miss the BIG picture.
i love this quote:
"Enjoy the little things in life..
for one day you'll look back and realize
they were the big things."
sometimes i try to wish time away because it
seems so hard or time consuming to do so many little things
for my little people, but other times as i look at my little
angels throughout the day at different moments
i want to bottle those times up forever so that i can always be
here to love and protect them and hold them close.
my new goal is to enjoy each moment of their "growing years"
i want to spend each and every second i can loving life
no matter what.
i loved Elder Ballards talk at the end of the afternoon
session on sunday. (actually i loved all of them), but
it was a great boost to sit and think about being a mom
and what that really entails.
i am grateful for my mom that raised me and taught
me so much. now i have the same opportunity to raise
my little kiddos.
i have such a fear of raising them the wrong way,
but i know that i am not alone (thank heavens).
i have a whole slew of people to help me. i definitely
couldn't do it without my wonderful husband and
Heavenly Father!

Jess-first of all that picture of you is gorgeous (but then you always look good)! Second you are a great mom...your kiddos are lucky to have you!!
I loved Elder Ballard's talk as well...it's funny how there is so much humor in the reality of life...I could envision him sitting with finger puppets and cheerios!!! (maybe they'll reinstate cheerios in your ward?!!!!)
Loved the blog...can't wait to see you...hopefully Eeyore will be here to enjoy your visit as well!!!

That talk was the highlight of my conference weekend. It really hit home with me and obviously ever other under-appreciated mother out there.

Families really are the best and I am sure glad we have the gospel to help us along the way.
