Lights, Camera, Action..

Yesterday at the Dr. he checked Jackson's bilirubin and sure enough it was HIGH. Bummer. Last night Home Care delivered the lights. They are way better than they were 7 years ago. Now it's just a bed they lay on and then there is a bili blanket that goes over the top and they are in this little blue paper blanket. Not too bad, except that I want to hold him, but have to leave him in the bed. He seems to not mind at all though. He also has pink eye in his right eye so he has some antibiotic drops. Other than that everything went well. We were there for 2 hours! Way too long with 3 hungry kids.

Stats:
Weight: 6 lbs. 5 oz. (he came home from the hospital at 6 lbs. 4 oz., so he has 1 more week to gain 3 oz. and be back to his birth weight by his 2 week check-up next Wednesday).
Length: 19 1/2 inches (same as at birth)
Head: 17th percentile.

I just can't get enough of him! He is so much fun. Everyone stopped to look at him at the Dr. yesterday. They said they couldn't believe how little he was.

Last night the girls did such an awesome job! I was so proud of both of them. Tayler got to perform hers twice because the music messed up at the end. I'm glad that they enjoy dance.

Since that is over now, I am hoping for a quiet and relaxing rest of the week. My body is definitely feeling the hustle and bustle from the past few days. We have to go back to the Dr. today again to get Jackson's bilirubin tested. Let's hope it has gone down enough to send the lights back. I doubt it, but we will hope.

Baby & Dress Rehearsal

Yesterday was my first test to take all 4 kids with me to do everything that needed to be done. It was a bit intimidating to think about, but worked out fine. Jackson is SUCH a good baby that I can't complain one bit. Really, he rarely if ever cries (other than when he is hungry).

Rylee and Tayler have their big Dance Recital tonight-- which they are so excited for-- and yesterday was the dress rehearsal at the High School. We got everyone ready and barely made it for Tayler's practice. PHEW!

Also Rylee had dance yesterday at her normal time, so I braved the grocery store with Jayson and Jackson while we waited the 45 minutes that she was there (not enough time to come home or really do anything). We needed some groceries so we went. Everything worked out well. I was a bit exhausted last night after everything, and my sweet Jackson slept from 10:45 to 2:30 and then woke up only to eat. It felt so good. Like I said, he really is an angel and I feel so lucky.

Little Jackson

The time seems like it has been an eternity, yet flown by all at the same time. I am going to try and savor each and every minute.

Friday, Grandma and Grandpa Dunroe came up for a visit and Sunday my mom braved the snow and came up. It's so fun to have them meet little Jackson. I love it! He is the 11th grand baby on both my side and Sean's side. Pretty cool huh? Anyway, today he has a Dr.'s appt. so I better get going since it takes me 2 hours to get everyone ready and out the door.

I'm in LOVE.. again!

JACKSON RYAN

We (well Sean) finally picked a name this morning. I guess I knew all along that it would be Jackson since it was narrowed down to Jackson and Luke. I do love Luke still, but Jackson will be cute too. Anyway, he is a love and I can't believe how perfect and innocent they come out and that instant feeling of love you have.

Here are some pictures of his brother and sisters meeting him for the first time. Jayson was really cute with him and Tayler and Rylee are pretty infatuated with him. I can't say I blame them however.

It's pretty surreal to think that I now have 4 kids. A little shocking, I must admit :)

Wednesday I felt pretty crappy most of the day but still had to take the car in to get worked on so that we could register it. It was a long day, so when Sean called me on my way home from picking up the car I just started to cry. I'm not sure why, hormones, I guess but I asked him for a blessing and then we would figure out if we should go into the hospital or not. We went into our room and he gave me a blessing. I was still having good contractions so we called his mom and dad to come up and stay with the kids so that they could sleep in their own beds (it was past 8:00 at this point). They came up, we said good-bye, I cried (seriously I'm a whimp), and we told them we would call them depending on what my Dr. said. We checked into the hospital and got all hooked up to the monitors. When the nurse checked I was dilated to 4 cm so she called Dr. Farley & he said he would be right up to break my water. At that point I was a little nervous, but so excited. I hoped that it would go as fast as Rylee and Jayson's births. I think Dr. Farley was hoping too so he could go home and go to bed. At 10:00 I was still only a 5 so they started Pitocin. I progressed to a 6 but it wasn't going very fast still so they turned up the Pitocin and in about 10 minutes I went from a 6 to complete. Awesome. 2 little pushes and he was out. It was great. He weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and was perfect. His little head was perfectly round & perfect since he was barely in the birth canal... literally! I love when they put them in your arms for the first time. I was still really shaky from the Epidural so Sean held him for a long time and bonded (HAHA-- did you read his last post. Creepy!) He really doesn't cry much and has been a super good baby so far- we'll see if I still say that after tonight. He was so alert when he was born. He looked around for hours. We are all doing very well and loving our new little addition. I truly am blessed and I'm so thankful everything turned out well and that he is here safe and sound. Thanks for all the sweet comments, phone calls, visits, etc. We love you all!!

Like father like son

Last night Jayson & Sean went and got their hair cut together. How cute is that? They both needed a little trim. Jayson was excited all day long (and I mean WAY excited). When it was time to go he kept clapping and hurried and got his shoes on. Here are the results. Pretty handsome if you ask me. I love these 2 BOYS! They both make me smile so much.

Dr.'s Appt.

So last week at my Dr.'s appt. I was already dilated to 2-3 cm. It was a huge surprise since I had no idea anything was happening, so I kicked it into high gear and got EVERYTHING ready because I thought I would deliver soon. Well today was my next appt. and there was no change. I was so bummed!! I had some major contractions yesterday and last night, but to no avail. Of course I don't want him to come until he is totally ready so that he is healthy, but I really thought it might be today. Oh well. We will play the waiting game. I know that he will come when he is good and ready. **SIGH**
The boys room is almost done. There are still things to hang up (shelves, etc.) but it is close. We went with a sports theme instead of the airplanes. I found my quilts at Pottery Barn and love them. I will get better pictures when everything is finished and hang up. I guess I have time now huh?

Instead of just buying Jayson a bed we bought bunk beds so that when the new little guy is ready he will already have his bed. I am weird about having everything match & Sean knows that so we bought both right now. It's fun and I love it!!

Friends Party

Rylee had her first friends party and she loved it! We missed Audrey though, who was very sick! We told Rylee that she could invite 4 friends and we would go to Boondocks and play. She was very excited and chose her friends. Here's the group after they opened presents:

They came to our house first and we frosted cupcakes, made a craft, ate cupcakes and ice cream and opened presents. Then we headed to Boondocks. They have this great place called the "Kiddie Cove" which they played on for a while and then we went bowling. I hope Rylee had a great time. She can be so sweet. Afterwards she said "mom you are so nice, I love you" That made it all worth it! Now all the parties are done, at least until after the baby. PHEW!

OH MY, she's really 5

My Rylee girl turned 5 today, but it really seems like she has been with us forever. She has turned into such a fun little girl. She definitely has her moments that I have to shake my head, but she is a blessing to our family (keeping us on our toes at ALL times).

Saturday night we had a little family birthday party for her. Sean treated everyone to some amazing pizza's (I think they were his best ever) & homemade rootbeer and then we had cake and ice cream.

Thank you for coming everyone! p.s. she changed into her dress-up right after everyone came. She can't stay in normal clothes very long. At least she wasn't in a swimming suit this year, like last year :)

New Year's Eve

I cannot believe it is 2010! Wow, what a year! This year will be equally as fun. A new baby, a baptism, etc.

On New Year's Eve we (myself and the kids) headed out to my mom's for the festivities. Sean met us out there since he was at work, and actually beat us getting there, Julie flew in from Denver at 8:00 and Brent and Ashley were already there.

We ate yummy foods and then at 9:00 p.m. we opened up our family time capsule.
Preface: 10 years ago on New Years Eve- the eve of Y2K, my mom and dad hosted a dinner and almost everyone wrote about our goals for the next 10 years and other thoughts. We then sealed them up in a "time capsule" that we said we would open in 10 years. At that time, I had just returned home from my mission (2 weeks prior). It was crazy to look back and think about all that has happened over the last 10 years and how amazing it was that we were opening it up after that long. In some ways it seems like forever ago and in others it really doesn't seem like 10 years have passed. Anyway, THIS New Year's Eve was the big night. 3 of the kids were present and 3 were on Skype (thanks to amazing technology)- due to distance, pregnancy and a new baby. It was a bit chaotic, but so fun that everyone could be present. Here are the 3 laptops with everyone. How funny is that?

It was interesting to read what everyone wrote & see how many things had come to pass that we did write. It was neat too because we got to read what my dad had put in the time capsule, a little piece of him was there with us.

At midnight, Grandma broke out some pans and kitchen utensils and let the kids rock out. Sean had to come and find me to give me my New Year's kiss- how lame am I?! Glad he did though.

There were a lot of fireworks going on around her neighborhood so we all sat and watched.

After that, we called it a night and hit the sack. It was so much fun to be with everyone! The next morning Sean got up and went on a 9 mile run! I am so proud of him.
