Christmas Eve & Christmas 2010

Christmas Eve morning was spent doing our first ANNUAL Dunroe family fun run.  Yep, Sean came up with it.  We all took shifts running.  Sean started with his run, then he and Tay did a little over a 1/2 mile for their leg.  I did my run next, then took Rylee on her leg and Sean and Jayson finished it up.  It was awesome!  The kids did so good running.

Christmas Eve was spent at Shelly & Mike's home this year and instead of a dinner we did appetizers and they were good! We had a huge variety and everything was yum. After we ate we opened presents.  It was a nice relaxing evening which I loved!

It was a fun evening and the kids had a blast playing with their cousins.
Afterwards we came home and opened one more present-- p.j's for everyone!

Of course the grown-up's had to get new p.j.'s too! HAHA.. I love it!!

We were happy to have Julie and Grandma join us for Christmas!
After p.j's were on all the kids went to bed!
I laughed so hard at this thing Tayler left for Santa.  She had a note all typed up to leave by the cookies.  She also made Santa a pop-up picture and left the rest of the reindeer food for him to give to them (she also sprinkled a lot on our lawn).  I loved it!!  The funniest was that she left a pen so he could write her back.. which he did!  No more just cookies and milk.  Tay takes it to a whole new level!
Christmas morning started about 7:30.  Rylee was the first one up (shocking!).  She had already perused all the presents when she came into our room.  She told us everything that each person had received from Santa.  That's my girl!  I remember sneaking down as a little girl because I loved looking at all the presents Santa had left us when it was still dark and only the Christmas tree & railing lights were on.  It was magical.  I love that Rylee did that too!
I didn't take a whole bunch of pictures but here are some. I think it is safe to say that everyone was happy!
Tayler and Rylee got a Karoke machine!

Jackson and Jayson enjoying the new Geo Trax airport.

After the kids looked and played with all the gifts Santa had left we ate breakfast and then went and opened up all the other presents under the tree.  Good times!!

We had a wonderful Christmas!  After we played a little bit more, we got dressed and went to see the new Narnia movie: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Everyone did great & really liked the movie, except Jackson.  He wasn't really into the movie.  He fell asleep the minute we got into the car when it was over.. little stinker.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas as well!!  Loves to you all.

The rest of the countdown

Day 20
Carmel/ Chocolate Pretzels
We cranked out about 120 of these for Sean's work.  MMMM, they were good! Then we spent the night trying to find cellophane bags.  They were sold out at every store we went too, so next year I will buy them as soon as I see them :)

Day 21
This day we got to go see Grandma and play for a while.  We even turned around to get the camera and I still didn't take one single picture! Dang.  It was a great day and so fun to hang out. That night, Sean took all the kids (sans Jackson) to the BYU/Weber State basketball game up in Ogden. While they were gone, Jackson and I finished up Christmas shopping!

Day 22
This is one of my favorite days with my family.  We usually do this on the 23rd because it is our Christmas Eve, Eve tradition, but this year because Sean had other plans for the 23rd (see below) we did this on the 22nd instead.  Our tradition is to order pizza, eat candy and watch movies until midnight and then everyone sleeps together in the living room.  The kids get to pick the movies and the place we order pizza from.  This year we had Domino's, rootbeer, Krispy Kreme donuts and lots of CANDY!  We watched Nanny McPhee Returns and Ramona and Beezus.  We also ended up playing Uno Spin as well.  I wish that I had more pictures from the night, but I only have one after they all were sleeping.  (Jackson slept up in his crib still).
It was a very fun night and one of our favorite traditions (this is our 3rd year doing it!)

Day 23
BYU basketball game

Sean got tickets from a co-worker to go down to the BYU/UTEP game.  We decided to all go along.  We left around 5:30 and still didn't make it until 7:20 to the game.  Once we sat down everyone had a good time. Of course they had to have cotton candy the minute we got there.  They all cheered and yelled and sang the fight song. Luckily, BYU pulled off a WIN so everyone was happy.

can you see Ry's lost tooth?
That day I had a hair appointment and decided to go BROWN.  It is still a little weird, but I do love it!

I have to admit that this count down was semi exhausting, but so fun.  I am grateful that we were able to do so many things together as a family and truly enjoy each other.  We have awesome memories and for that it was all worth it and I can't wait to do it again next year!  This was definitely my favorite year so far.  We had 3 things on our list that we never got to: making suckers, sledding, and going to Temple Square to see the lights, but I am sure we still will before the year is over.  We crammed a lot of stuff into 23 days.

xoxox,

Look who's 11 months

I just love this little guy and can't believe that we will be singing Happy Birthday to him next month.  It seems
like he was just born, but alas... he was not!  At this time last year, I remember being SO done with pregnancy.  It was all worth it.

He has such a funny little personality. It is almost as though he knows exactly what you are saying.

He also loves to throw fits. He will throw himself backwards on the floor and cry and if I tell him "no, no" he will look at me, purse his little lip and then cloud up and RAIN! It usually breaks my heart.

He still is very cuddly and I love it!

He has the best smile and yes he still has huge ears :)

He loves playing with the kids.  He will crawl up the stairs to find them and will just sit and play for hours.

He pulls EVERYTHING out of any drawer he can open.  It's quickly becoming annoying!  I think I put stuff back into drawers 100 times a day.

Sean calls him chunky which is ironic since he is so small.

He loves attention and if you are not giving him enough he will let you know.

He his a mommy/daddy's boy (first one of my kids that will go to daddy over me).

His first word was dada.  Of course it was.

Here is his latest trick.  I can't figure out how to rotate this video for some reason?  Sorry!  You get the idea though.
We are so happy to have this little boy in our family!

Catch up on days 15-19

Day 15
This day we spent wrapping presents.  Depending on who the present was for, I had
one of the kids come in and help me. It took a long time, but I think they all enjoyed it.  I know I feel a lot better now that most are wrapped! Phew.

Day 16
Game Night

We let the kids pick 3 games they wanted to play.  They chose Uno Spin, Sequence, & Go Fish.
We had so much fun playing!

Afterwards, we decided to try a  few scrunch  pictures with all 6 of us.. yeah, it didn't work so well.  We were laughing so hard by the end!  We cut someone's head off in every single one.

They are sure a fun bunch!  I love them.

Day 17
I had to work all day so I came home to an amazing meal (Pork Tenderloin in a plum sauce & Sage potatoes).  Holy cow, it was fabulous!  Did I mention how lucky I am that Sean is an amazing cook. We ate and then watched Frosty the Snowman together.  It was a perfect, relaxing evening!

Day 18
Sean and I had a work party to go this night, so during the day we started getting our neighbor & friends gifts ready to be delivered.  We also did a little Christmas shopping!  I can't believe it was the last weekend before Christmas.  Sean's boss, Murph, put on a fun party for all of his direct reports.  We had a great evening together at his home & our kids had a blast with the babysitter.

Day 19
After Church, we went out delivering all of our gifts.  I have the best helpers in the whole world.  They love delivering things and on each porch Jayson would yell (literally) "Merry Christmas."  It was raining pretty hard, but we still enjoyed ourselves and got everything delivered.

This week is a busy one too, but should be semi-easy because they kids are off of school. That means we can do our activities during the day.

Rylee's Christmas Program

This little cutie sang her heart out today for the Kindergarten Christmas Program.  It was so fun to watch her.  Afterwards, a few mom's I know from my ward said "we loved watching Rylee sing those songs.  She really got into them."  Yep. That's my girl.  She was darling and definitely the most animated!   They were told to wear their holiday best

They sang 7 songs and one of them was Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer so they made these cute hats to put on while they were singing.
Can you see her?
Here are some friends in her class.
This little girl Savannah is adorable and Rylee loves her.
Rylee and Isabel (Izzy).  They are car pool buddies!
After Rylee was finished singing, Jayson turned to me and said "mom, we don't have flowers for Rylee"  He was very concerned about that.  It made me laugh!  I told him that she didn't need flowers this time, but he still wasn't sure why not.

Ice Skating

Day 13
We didn't really do anything exciting this day.  I wasn't feeling very good so we listened to Christmas music during dinner and then went to bed early.

Day 14
Ice Skating

Last night we tried our luck at Ice Skating and my kids LOVED it!! They were so excited to go & boy did we have fun.  The first few times around the rink were funny.  They took quite a few spills, but laughed every time and never gave up.  By the end of the night they were doing so well.  I was shocked.

Getting their skates on
Do you dig Sean's hat as much as I do?  HAHAHA!!
Rylee, hanging on for dear life (at the start)
Waiting to switch off.  At the end I went skating with Jackson.
Tayler & Sean trying it out for the first time
Rylee, getting a little braver. I am diggin' her cone shaped hat.
 Me and Jays
Tayler at the end of the night.  They were all sad to leave.

We had a blast!!  Can't wait to go again.
Thanks Lynette for the info. of where to go! You rock.
