The Party

Today was the much anticipated birthday party.  It was Jayson's first party ever and he was so excited!  It made it all worth it.

He invited 8 friends.  We had a big blow up toy to play on.

It was a Star Wars party (surprise!). 

We had light sabers made from pool noodles. The kids loved them and no one got hurt, because well, it is hard to get hurt from a noodle.

Gotta love a little masking tape & noodles.  They worked perfectly.

We had "YODA's SODA's" (green sherbet and sprite).  The kids loved those as well.  We also had a pinata, and then played a few games with balloons and their faux light sabers. The rest of the time they played outside in the pool.

For the cake, I didn't have a ton of time, so I made a light saber cake.  It was pretty easy. I am grateful for all of his friends that came.  It totally made is whole day. Tonight, when I tucked him in, he said "I love you Mom.  Thanks for making it the best day ever."  Those words made it ALL worth it.

Jayson is 5

Um, I am fairly certain that I was just leaving the hospital with my little bundle and now, he turned FIVE.

The night before his birthday, Sean and I took him out for his special birthday dinner. I love this tradition.  I love having that one on one time with each child.  He wanted RIBS so we headed to Famous Dave's.  It was a first for both Jayson and I.  It was good, but to see how excited he was that all the attention was just on him, was priceless.  He couldn't quit smiling. 

That night my birthday fairies, helped me decorate.  They filled his room with balloons and decorated his door.  They were the perfect helpers.  Thanks cute fairies.

 Since his birthday was on a Sunday, we opened presents before Church.  He still had his perma-smile on his face when he woke up.  It was a STAR WARS themed birthday. He got some masks and a new light saber and he and Jackson have been playing with them non-stop.

Sean had to join in the fun as well.  It looks like my family has turned to the Dark Side.

After Church, we went out to Grandma's house for his birthday dinner. I am sad that I didn't get any pictures.

When we got home, he wanted a SCOOKIE for his dessert so we made 2.  I think he was pretty happy to be 5.

I love this little boy so much!  He has his moments, but is really is a sweet, kind boy.  He is pretty easy going and loves to tease his Siblings. He is so smart and still loves to cuddle. I will have to post his birthday interview soon.  He cracks me up.  I love that he "gets" humor.  I can't wait for 5 more years buddy,  I love you Jayson!

Trip to Logan

It is rare that 2 of the Moore kids would be in Utah at the same time, but all the stars aligned and they were here :)  Emmy, stayed up in Logan, so last Friday we went up to see her.  It was so fun to see her cute, beautiful, ALMOST 15 year old face.  When did that happen?  Why do they keep growing up?  It was fun to play and see her.  She was staying with a great family and they totally let us barge in and stay a while to visit. Thanks Parkers!

 Their yard is beautiful.  We had fun just hanging out.

 Of course, we had to leave for a little while to get some Aggie Ice Cream.  They kids loved it! I have to say I am a fan.  I am sure I have had it before, but I don't recall when.  It was DeLICOUS.

 The bike racks out in front, turned into instant fun for a while.  Tayler and Meg created the leap frog game and everyone played for a good hour.  I guess that is the reason they ALL fell asleep on the ride home.

I love the time I get to see my beautiful neices and my kids get to hang out with their cousins.  Love you girls!  Glad my Mom was my awesome co-pilot.  It was a wonderful evening.

MEG is HERE!

So life has a been a little bit crazy to say the least.  I have started a new job to be a Loan Processor from home, but the training has been intense.  I didn't have any idea how much it entailed.  I am really enjoying it and my good friend is my trainer and she is amazing, so it has been great. 
I asked Jen if Emmy could come and stay with me for a few weeks to help out with my kids during all this craziness, but since she was already spoken for and coming to Logan during that same time, we thought about Meg. Well, it just happened that some friends from their ward were driving to Utah, so Jen worked it out and Meg hitched a ride with them.  They left Monday morning and made it to Utah on Tuesday night.  I still think that is amazing to go from Georgia to Utah in 2 days!

We were so thrilled to see her and have her stay with us for 2 weeks.  Her and Tayler are BFF's so it has been the perfect scenario!  Tayler made her a welcome sign and they all were so excited for her arrival.

Our weather has been crazy, but we did get to enjoy one day at the pool so far.

It went from HOT, HOT to rainy and overcast for a few days, which I am in no way complaining about.  I love it.  And the rain didn't stop the kids from having fun.  They played outside in it.  When they finally came in they were soaked from head to toe. So funny!

Duck, Duck, Goose anyone? 

We have had lots of soccer games and Meg has been a sport to go with us.

After Tayler's last tournament game on Saturday we were going to go boating, but the rain foiled our plans again.  Instead we played games while it poured outside and then went to Lagoon.

Meg is not a huge fan of roller-coasters, but she went on a few with us.  It was a fun night!

Grandma came up Tuesday morning and stayed until Wednesday night.  She was a great help as well.  I love people that clean my house for me.  She made all the beds, folded my laundry, cooked, got the kids dressed, did dishes, etc.  Heavenly I tell you!  Meg has been great too.  She told me she liked to put things in rows and order so I had her clean out my pantry.  I was kidding of course, but she wanted to (at least that is what she told me.. haha). It looked so great afterwards.  When she was finished she asked me what else she could organize.  Geez, I could get used to that. How did I get so lucky!

After the pantry cleaning and dinner was cleaned up, we went over to Boondocks to let off some energy and get out of the house.

We ended up only playing the arcades and other games, but it was good (until the ride home when Jackson screamed his head off. He may not make it to his 5th birthday, just sayin').

She is a great girl and it really will be hard to let her go, but we are not going to think about that.  We still have 5 more days and we are going to enjoy every moment.  I think tonight we are going to the MOVIES!!  We all have cabin fever.

4th of July

Our 4th of July was low key and great.  We woke up, went out to breakfast and then headed to Lagoon. It wasn't very busy which was perfect.  It was SUPER hot though, so we headed to Pioneer Village to go on the Log Ride and Rattlesnake rapids to cool off.  I stayed with Jackson for that ride. They all got drenched, but loved every minute. 

The girls and I did the big rides.  Sean's broken rib couldn't really hack it.  Poor guy.

Later that night since Lagoon wasn't doing fireworks we went to the fireworks by Davis High.  Tayler, Rylee and I headed over early to lay out our blankets and chairs.  We had to get glow sticks and treats for our evening too.  

Things learned:

1.)  Grateful that my kids do not run away.  The people next to us lost their 2  year old for a while because he ran off.  I can't imagine losing my child a crowd that large.  Super scary.
2.)  Rylee does NOT like fireworks.  I think she had her fingers permanently stuck in her ears until we got home. (I have no idea why Blogger is highlighting this one).
3.) Lee Greenwood just makes my 4th of July complete.  I love the song; "Proud to be an American" It gives me goosebumps.  I remember one 4th of July when a radio station played it non stop the whole day.  Pretty sure I listened to it at least 50 times.  Love!
4.) It was really odd not being with family or having a bbq.  Hmmm, maybe because it was smack dab in the middle of the week.. I don't know, but it was different.

It was a wonderful Independence Day!
