Check up

My little boy had his 6 month check-up today. I can say he is fairly average!

Height: 69%
Weight: 44%
Head: 43%

I didn't realize until I was talking to the Dr. that he has never been sick once. Isn't that amazing? He hasn't even had a runny nose! Life is good for this little guy!
Last week was a good week.
Saturday I had to work, but Sean played super "Dad" and got Tay ready and to gymnastics (spur of the moment I might add) along with the other 2, and then met me at Applebee's for lunch. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see all of their hair done, with ribbons, and dressed in clothes that were cute and matched. I was very impressed. We had a great low key day. I loved it!
Sunday when I heard the news of President Hinkley's passing my heart was sad for us, but happy for him. Sean and I stayed up and watched the tribute that they did after our local news, basically telling his life story. I didn't know that his Mother died at such a young age. After watching the story I felt tired-- for him! What an unbelievable man he was, who NEVER rested. He was in charge of so many things and did such an incredible job. I will miss seeing him at Conference in April. His words somehow seemed to make everything better.
Farewell Dear President Hinkley! We will miss you greatly!!

one day at a time

So yesterday as I dropped everyone off at school I noticed that my little Tay was crying, just looking out the window. After all of the other kids jumped out I drove around the corner to give her a hug and figure out what was wrong before I just sent her in for the day.

After a minute she told me that she couldn't see the "moon" like all the other kids who were pointing to it and talking about it on the way so she was upset. Although that may be a silly thing to cry over it broke my heart. I hate to see my kids upset. I gave her some hugs and cuddled her for a minute and then left the car running and then showed her what all the kids were pointing too so that she wouldn't feel left out. The reason she couldn't see it was because they were looking at a foggy sun, but calling it the moon. She assumed that there was something she wasn't seeing and was looking for the "moon". We laughed and I hugged her and walked her to the door of the school and watched her walk in. She turned around and I winked at her and blew her a kiss.

This made me think a lot about being a parent yesterday and what that entails. I hope that what I teach her is the right thing or that I'm even doing enough as a parent. She has such a tender little heart and I never want that to change.

Does anyone else ever feel that way?

I would love to just keep all of my kids "under my wings" like mother hens do. It's hard to let them go and experience the world for themselves.

I guess I can't keep them from growing up and it's okay. I am grateful for guidance through prayer. I'm not sure what I would do without that.

After I picked her up from school I decided that we would just have a fun day and go to lunch and do a little shopping. Tay picked Chick-Fil-A to eat at (shocker) so off we went. It was a fun day! I think it is the little things that mean a lot! I need to remember that more often!!

Random thought

I have been thinking so much about my dad these past few weeks. We are just shy of 5 years that he has been gone. For some reason
more than before I have such a yearning to see him. I know that he is around and
watching over us, but I just want to be able to wrap my arms around him.
At times, I still expect to see him when I open the door to my parent's house. Sometimes I think it is so unfair, but then I am quickly reminded that it is NOT our plan nor time table that decides how long our journey will be.

I feel blessed to know with NO doubts where we will go after this life and for that I am eternally grateful. I will see him again. What an awesome day that will be!

I put the Josh Groban song "To Where You Are" on my playlist because every time I hear that song I think of him around me.

I want my family to know how much I love each one of them. Thank you for all you do for me.
(I love to see my brothers, Steve, and my hubby in the above picture. To me it is such a powerful one!)

Weekend

My middle child has been a little sicky since Wednesday! I love her but I have to say she is quite a pathetic sick person! :)

We headed out to my mom's on Wednesday afternoon and she pucked that evening right after dinner and then went down hill from there, coming out both ends! (sorry)

She is on the up and up now which is a relief.

Today since Tayler was home from school and occupied Rylee's time with fun games (and Jayson slept), and we had a MAJOR snow storm-- I started cleaning.. and I mean really cleaning. I cleaned out closets, I threw away tons of toys and other misc. items. I filled our empty trash to overflowing! It feels good. That was just the upstairs, but it's a start! I love to clean things out and feel somewhat organized.

My motto is: "everything has a place and if it doesn't it doesn't belong" I learned that we have WAY too many toys and THINGS.

This weekend was great. Since Rylee was sick we just stayed home and did nothing. It has been a long time since neither Sean or I have had something on the agenda. I loved it!

Hope you had a great weekend too!

Update

So I totally failed to post any pictures or give any details of our Christmas. We had such a fun Christmas! The girls are at such a fun age.

Christmas Eve we spent at Sean's sisters home. We ate and opened presents and somehow stayed over 7 hours. It was a blizzard that day. Thankfully we live just a mile from her house so we made it home with no problems.

Decorating cookies for Santa

We got home late and since the kids didn't have naps we put out the cookies and milk for Santa and let them open their Christmas Eve jammies and then it was off to la la land. They both were out in seconds.

The next morning they slept in until 9:00 a.m. We love to sleep here at our house.
My sweet husband bought me this for Christmas. I have to admit that I was a little scared to even touch it, but it will be so much fun. I have figured out a few of the gadgets on it, but have to go to my class to figure out everything it can do!
After presents we went over to our friends for a Christmas brunch. It was YUM!

Then we headed out to my Mom's house later that evening and slept over. It was great and relaxing!

Later that week we were able to spend some time with Brent and Ashley too. It is always fun to spend time with family.

All in all it was a great holiday!!

Such a fun weekend

My mom and I (and little Jayson) had so much fun in Colorado! It was great to see Julie, Jared and Katie and my newest little nephew Cayden. He melted my heart the minute I saw him. He was such a sweet little guy. I forget how tiny they are. Jayson looked HUGE next to him. My grandma kept asking if Cayden and Jayson were twins?? Look here

Isn't he so cute??
It was such a relaxing weekend too. I pretty much just vegged and played games. It was awesome. They made me yummy meals so really I did nothing! Thank you Julie for letting Jayson and I stay with you. It was a blast!!

The blessing on Sunday was fabulous. Jared did such an awesome job & then Katie and Jared's testimonies were wonderful as well. Thanks guys for the great weekend. Love you!

I'm off..

Jayson and I are off to Colorado to see this cute little kid for his blessing!

I can't wait to see him and hold him.

Birthday Party

Jayson was excited that Rylee is three!
Here are pictures of the big bash..
(cute birthday girl & a little pizza left from her birthday dinner!)

*****quick disclaimer..
Rylee loves to dress up. Well I had her all cute for her party and then she disappeared for a few minutes and returned in her swimming suit. A while ago she wore this thing day and night. I should have gotten her dressed back up again but I let it go and she had the happiest day of all.. in her swimming suit!!

Rylee picked an Island Princess Barbie Cake and she loved it! She was thrilled to blow out the candles (as you can see).

Thank you everyone for the nice gifts, phone calls, birthday cards, and for coming to see her. She is very loved and spoiled because of all of you. She loves you very much!!

(p.s. Brent and Ash the lip smackers are now digested. I caught her behind the chair scooping them out and eating all of them) She smelled like them for days. YuM!!!

Look who's 3

I remember very well the day I had little Miss Rylee Pot Pie. She made her way quickly into this world and into her mommy's heart! She is such a ray of sunshine. She is a determined little girl. When she has her mind made up-- good luck changing it. Her best friend is Tayler. She definitely has some naughtiness in her. Her eyes are a window to her soul. She loves to hug and be cuddled. She loves to ask questions. She loves all the princesses. She is very smart.
She is my little angel. I love you Ry!!

Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!
We are having a birthday party tonight for this little one. I'll post pictures tomorrow!

(I will also catch up with pictures of Christmas and New Years!-- Slacker :)

Pictures are back

Here are the pictures I got back from Target. Pretty cute I think!

Jayson was ready to eat Rylee. He is such a funny boy. I love them!!!

Oops & Fun Christmas Activities

I have learned this equation:
Mommy + Orange Juice= Very upset & sad baby

When Jayson was only a few weeks old I had o.j. and he was up the whole night. Well, I thought maybe it wouldn't affect him this time since he was a bit older (and Sean made Orange Julius' )and I was weak and drank a WHOLE big glass. Needless to say Jayson and I spent a lot of time together Saturday night :) I have learned my lesson! At least for another few months-- NO OJ!

Sunday night we crafted our Gingerbread house! Tayler has been so excited all week.

I think they ate more frosting and candies than you are allowed, but it was fun!

Last night we went with our friends the NeVille's to the Christmas Sing-A-long that Larry H. Miller does at the Delta Center for everyone. It's free for families and it was fun! We went to dinner at Pei Wei and then headed down to the delta center. They had a symphony that played the songs, so it was beautiful. It was a great FHE night!

Only 7 days until Christmas!

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday Ashley!!!
Okay so I have to confess.. I totally thought it was the 15th.. and here is a picture of my calendar to prove it (and no I didn't write it in then take a picture). I kept having a feeling that it was the 12th.. dude I'm a dork! Sorry I didn't call either!

I even have your card ready to go on the table to mail out tomorrow and I thought.. "sweet, for once in my life it will get there on time".. wrong again!!!

The reason I was so excited is because Ashley has this wonderful gift of getting you something in the mail that will arrive precisely on your birthday. It's amazing and I haven't quite figured out how she does it, but miraculously every time for our family it comes on the exact day, not a day or two early or late.. exactly on the day. She is fabulous!

We love her so much and are so grateful she is part of our family.

Hope you had an amazing and fun-filled day!!

Picture time

Yesterday we were suppose to have pictures taken with all the cousins from Sean's side of the family, but a few of them were sick and throwing up so we cancelled that, but I still kept the sitting and took my kids. I think they turned out pretty cute. Jayson was such a ham for the camera, it was funny! He was smiling so big!
These are just some shots I took quickly on our way out the door.

It's a rainy day today so I think we will just hang out and make crafts. I bought some fun things to make with my kiddos.

Loves!!
