Brent's visit & Soccer lists

The end of March, Brent called and told me that he was in town and wanted to come see us if possible.  He had came to watch the March Madness games at Energy Solutions!  Of course we wanted to see him.

He said that he had Saturday morning open and wondered what we were up too.  Well, soccer, of course! :)

It was the championship game for Tayler's team at 8:30 a.m. and their last indoor game.  They had played in a Boy's league that session and the first game they lost by only 1 point.  Tayler had 3 goals, and put them up 5 to 3, but in the last few minutes it went to 6-5.  It was heartbreaking.  BUT, they got a chance to play this same Boy's team again (who had never lost a game in all 3 sessions) for the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.  It was so fun to watch! 

The outcome was also awesome.  Tay's team beat them 5-1.  I don't think they knew what hit them.  I think they were in shock as they left.  I was so proud of our team.


Brent came up to watch it with us.  He has such a good nature about him,  just goes with the flow.  Love that about him!  I am sad this picture is blurry, but it is the only one I got.

In between Tay's game and Jayson's game we went out to breakfast so we could all chat and eat.  It was nice!  We are so excited for the arrival of Brent and Ashley's cute little BOY, in just a few short months!  They will be such wonderful parents.

They also had all the boards up that show the top 10 players out of all the teams in that age bracket and each of my kids were on the list!

 Super impressed that Tay was, considering that they were in the BOYS league and it was super competitive.

 

 So proud of my little munchkins!  Thanks for coming to see us Brent!  We love you.

Real Salt Lake

Rylee was able to go to the Real Salt Lake Game on Saturday and walk out with the players to start the game and then play on the field at halftime.  Unfortunately, she was on the other side of the field when they came out, so I couldn't see her.  I did video and zoomed in, but no still shots.

She was so excited.. beaming!  Jayson got to come along with us too.  He LOVES anything soccer related.  He is a nut!  When Rylee came back to her seat afterwards she seemed nervous and I asked her what was up?  She told me that she knew it was on TV, so it made her nervous.. haha!! I should have told her that part usually isn't on TV, darn it.

 Jayson was focused in on the jumbo tron.  He knew everything that was happening!

The day could NOT have been any better- weather wise. It was so nice.  I love this Spring weather that we are having. 

At Half-time she got to go back out on the field to play a little scrimmage game.
The people behind us were so cute cheering for her, and her 2 aunts, Sharla and Sherra were also at the game and had seats pretty close to us, so they cheered loud for her too.  Such a neat experience!

Love days like that!

Tayler's Broken Nose

On Wednesday, February 6th, Tayler had the unfortunate event of getting knocked by her teammates head, right in her face, during soccer practice.

Thankfully, she didn't have a ton of pain, but it did bleed a TON, and got really swollen and a little bruised.  I made an appt. the next day just to get it checked out, just in case.

Well it was broken!  Bummer. We had to follow up with an ENT to see if she required surgery.

 We went to the ENT and he said she did need surgery because it was drooping and he wanted to fix it.  So that Wednesday, she ended up having surgery.

 The Dr. said the surgery went great, and he was able to pop the bone right back into place very easily, so there was little swelling and no bleeding.  She actually woke up and was chipper.  The IV in her arm hurt more than the surgery.. haha!

She got her cast off on Wednesday and everything looked great.  Her cute little nose is back to its normal, straight self.  She has to wear her cast at night and when she plays/practices soccer, but other than everything is better.

Rylee's Baptism Day

Rylee's baptism was such a wonderful day!  She woke up bright and early and was so excited about her big day.

It was so nice to have family that came from near and far.  Julie flew in Friday morning and I made her help me with all my last minute errands :)  She was awesome.  Jared and Katie arrived around 8:00 p.m.  Brent & Ashley came the morning of the baptism and it was great to see everyone and be together.  We missed those that were not able to be with us, but we felt their love.  Rylee loved all the phone calls and texts she received wishing her happy thoughts and Big hugs that day. I am grateful that all of Sean's family was able to come too, except for 1 sister in Idaho.

We left to the Stake Center around 11:30, (Sean and Rylee had to be there early for the prayer meeting), so Jackson and I tagged along and then everyone else showed up moments later.

Rylee was so excited when it was her turn.

She giggled the whole way into the baptismal font,during the baptism and while she was coming up the stairs again.  It made everyone laugh.  I love the tender moment I got (that one on one time right after) when I was getting her ready.  She kept smiling and hugging me.  It was so cute and it will be a memory I never forget.  I did good, holding in the tears too, at least most of the time!  I can't believe my Rylee is 8 and now, baptized. Before we went into the room where she was confirmed, I knelt down and told her how much I loved her and how beautiful she was and how proud I was of her.  She gave me the biggest hug ever.  I just love her.

The confirmation was beautiful and that is when I couldn't fight back the tears any longer.  It is amazing to look into their sweet faces.

Afterwards, we came back to our home for a luncheon with all of our family and friends.  It was a wonderful day and the sun actually came out that afternoon.  It was glorious.  After our 2 weeks of inversion, the sun FINALLY came out and we saw the blue skies, again.

I am so proud of my sweet Rylee and the choice she made to be baptized and those that came to share the day with us.  I love all of my family so very much.

When Tayler was baptized, Rylee told everyone that she was NOT going to be baptized and that made Tayler SO sad, that from that point on Tayler has prayed every night that she would change her mind.  Looks like it worked :)

 It is such a milestone.  I can't believe I now have 2 baptized.  Where does the time go?

Snow Day

Thursday afternoon it started to snow.. A LOT!! It didn't stop all afternoon and into the evening.  When we went to bed, Sean had snow plowed twice.  I get that we live in Utah, and we are very use to snow, but this one dumped on us, quickly=!  We received more snow in Davis County than the mountains got.

At 5:55 the next morning, my cell phone rang and I received the automated message that school was cancelled.  I couldn't believe it.  I have never heard of school getting cancelled in Utah (at least not since I was in elementary school).  I was thrilled.  I turned off the alarm, and went back to sleep. It was glorious.

Sean came home early from work and pulled the kids on the 4 wheeler in the sled.

 They loved it!

 Look at all that snow!  19+ inches.  Yikes!  Our temperatures have only been in the teens too.  Awesome.

 Looks like Tayler got dumped off the sled.. but no worries,, here she COMES...

What a Nerd!!  Oh such fun in the snow. 

I personally don't like the snow, but I am glad my kids do.  I will gladly bundle them up and send them out to play and have the hot chocolate waiting for them :)

Rylee's birthday

I have a hard time believing that my second child is now 8!  I will admit that her birthday immediately after Christmas has always been super hard for me, and I feel that sometimes I short change her because I am exhausted from Christmas, but this year, I made sure to do everything I could to celebrate her.  She is such a sweet girl and I sure love her!

 She woke up and we had breakfast with Dad before getting ready for school.  I gave her a new outfit to wear to school that she got to open that morning with her breakfast.

 She had a great day at school. I made her a special lunch and we all put special notes in it. She said she loved that, but couldn't read them all because they made her cry and didn't want to cry at school.  Her class made her a special birthday book too.  My sweet neighbor that carpools with me, went and got everyone cupcakes from Sweet Tooth Fairy to celebrate her.  She made sure they sang to her going to school and coming home from school.  Love you Kim!

When Sean got home opened presents and then went to dinner. (She chose the Training Table.. shocker!)

Thank you to all that sent her presents, cards, texts, phone calls.  She felt very loved and had a great day.

She really did love reading all her cards.  Those words mean the world to her.

Rylee had been BEGGING, PLEADING, for an ipod Touch for a long time.  Well I told her there was NO way she would get one yet.  Sean and I decided to get her one for her birthday, but I wrapped it in a big box and put a whole bunch of books in it to trick her.  When she finally got into the box and realized what it was she screamed and then bounded towards me with the most excitement I have ever seen.  It made it all worth it.  I cried with her.  She was so cute and so grateful.  It seriously was the most excitement I have ever seen from any of my kids, for any gift they have received.

Brent and Ashley sent her a sweet soccer shirt.  Love it!

I think it was a pretty good day!!
We had her Friend's birthday party on Saturday.  We decided to do it at GET AIR (which is a huge trampoline place).

We had passes to jump for 90 minutes and then had our party room for lunch, cake and ice cream and presents the last 45 minutes.  It turned out great. Those kids were SOOO tired after 90 minutes!
I really love her friends.  They are all darling girls.

 I ordered Chick Fil A kids meals for everyone and brought cupcakes and ice cream cups.

Happy 8th birthday Ry!  I hope this is the best year yet. We sure do love you.
